When distractions come that tempt us to think we deserve more than we’ve been given, turn your eyes back to Jesus and his remarkable grace. Chances are, those distractions will turn strangely dim.
I remember the first time I read this verse. I was in high school, my friend’s Dad suddenly passed away from a heart attack.

“We will get through this.” This is the message that has been streamed across the airwaves to all Canadians in the past few weeks.

“Who do you say that I am?” Jesus asked, turning to his 12 disciples. Confident, Simon Peter stepped up. “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”.

The Messiah heals and saves, no matter what the news may say!
Messiah simply means “the anointed one” or “the chosen one.” In Old Testament times, prophets, priests, and kings were anointed by oil when they were set apart for positions of responsibility. The anointing was a sign that God chose and consecrated them for the work He gave them to do.

As Abraham faced the greatest trial of his life, he received the greatest revelation about our Heavenly Father.

Yahweh is the unique, covenant name for Israel’s God, setting Him apart from the many ‘gods’ of the other nations.

THE NAME ABOVE ALL. Throughout scripture, we see God reveal Himself to His people in various ways. From Genesis to Revelation God constantly gives us various names that describe His character. These names would spark encouragement, reverence and joy in times of uncertainty and pestilence. It is imperative we do the same as our forefathers – join with heaven’s song through the ages, sparking faith in troubled times.
