Just Ask

We are often quick to call on God the Father and God the Son when we pray. But there is a third person in the Trinity that we sometimes forget – Holy Spirit! As we all know, Holy Spirit dwells inside of us when we first accept Jesus as our Lord. But He doesn’t just go to sleep and stay there as we continue to live our daily lives. Holy Spirit is our Parakletasour comforter, helper and counsellor. It is Holy Spirit that gives us peace in chaos, convicts us of our sin, embraces us when we fail and guides us when we seek direction. It is also through Holy Spirit that “…you will receive power…” (Acts 1:8). Not power to sit on, but power to be witnesses of who God is.

In this past year, there have been some very trying times, and I have had to recite this passage over and over again – “the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world” (1 John 4:4 NLT). This isn’t just a famous passage of scripture. It is the truth of the Gospel! Holy Spirit inside of you is greater than any problem you may be facing today. Holy Spirit is greater than what is happening in the world today. Holy Spirit is greater than any setback, fear, anxiety or earthly man. And He lives inside of you!

We need to walk as people who carry power inside of us. Not earthly, prideful power, but power to overcome sin and any attack of the enemy. You are powerful friend – because you have Holy Spirit inside of you. You can cast out demons, heal the sick, bring hope and make disciples.

You can also experience inner healing and transformation. Simply ask Holy Spirit to do a work in your life today. Ask Him to be a part of your every day – from the time you wake up, to when you go to sleep. Ask Him to give you wisdom and understanding. Ask Him to give you peace and counsel. Ask Him for a fresh baptism, so you can be filled with power to be a witness for His name.

Don’t wait for tomorrow. Take time right now and enter in – if you have never been baptized by Holy Spirit, ask the Lord to fill you right now. It doesn’t need to happen in a church building or at an altar. Holy Spirit can meet you anywhere. Just ask Him.

John 5:1-18 Why do we often quit before we try? We see the task at hand and assume it’s not for us. We think we don’t have the right gifts or talents. We see others thriving in things we want but believe we are not made for the same. I see this in the paralytic ...

Why Jesus?

The Life of Jesus Jesus claimed that the only way to know God is through him.  He was sent from God to reveal to humanity what God is truly like. Jesus gives us clear and definitive evidence of God’s great love for us, and through him, we learn that God is abundantly merciful, loving, and ...
